Because of its run-oriented offense, Michigan has been viewed as a tough sell for elite wide receiver recruits in recent cycles.
The Wolverines took a step toward changing that perception Tuesday by landing a commitment from four-star wide receiver Andrew Marsh. Marsh, the No. 63 player in the 247Sports Composite in the Class of 2025, would be the highest-rated wide receiver to sign with the Wolverines since Donovan Peoples-Jones in the Class of 2017.
Marsh, who attends Jordan High School in Fulshear, Texas, picked Michigan over Washington, Texas, USC and Colorado.
“I’m really ready to come turn up for the community up there, bring more explosive plays to the game, change the offense up, bring Andrew Marsh up north,” Marsh said at his commitment ceremony.
What Marsh brings to Michigan
Marsh, listed at 6 feet 1 and 175 pounds, also excels in track, which shows up with his long-distance speed and leaping ability. He’s strong enough to run through tackles and shows good balance and acceleration. In his highlights, he shows the ability to match the physicality of opposing defensive backs and make contested catches through contact.
Marsh caught 65 passes for 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior, showcasing the kind of big-play ability that Michigan has been looking for at wide receiver. The Wolverines also have a commitment from four-star wide receiver Jacob Washington from New Orleans but recently lost a commitment from wide receiver Phillip Wright, who flipped to LSU. Landing Marsh makes up for that loss and then some, adding a fourth top-100 player in Michigan’s 2025 class.
After a quiet start to the 2025 cycle, Michigan has climbed to No. 12 in the composite rankings and No. 3 in the Big Ten behind Ohio State and Oregon. Marsh immediately becomes one of the headliners of the class alongside cornerback Ivan Taylor, safety Kainoa Winston and defensive end Nate Marshall.
