Everton make bid for Hull's Jaden Philogene

Everton have made a formal transfer bid to sign Jaden Philogene from Hull City.

The bid placed on Monday is in the region of £16million ($20.5m) plus add-ons for the 22-year-old forward.

Ipswich Town, newly promoted to the Premier League, have tabled a joint bid of £35m for Philogene and Jacob Greaves. The latter has undergone a medical at Portman Road.

Crystal Palace are also known to be admirers of Philogene, having seen Michael Olise leave for Bayern Munich over the weekend.

Philogene joined Hull in a £5m deal in September before going on to make 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and adding six assists. The deal to take the academy product from Aston Villa included a buy-back option if Hull were promoted.

An England Under-21 international, Philogene has four caps at that level and has scored three goals.

Everton have already been active in the transfer window, with Iliman Ndiaye joining from Marseille and Tim Ireogbunam signing from Aston Villa. Ben Godfrey, meanwhile, has left for Atalanta and Lewis Dobbin has moved to Villa.
