The Kansas City Chiefs and All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones agreed to a new contract, the team announced Monday. Here’s what you need to know:
- The deal is for one-year.
- Before the new deal, Jones ranked as the ninth highest-paid defensive tackle in the league, averaging $20 million per year, via Over The Cap. He was set to be a free agent after the 2024 season.
- Jones, 29, sat out all of the Chiefs’ offseason workouts (voluntary and mandatory) up to this point and did not play in Kansas City’s season-opening loss to the Lions.
