The bottom line: Sijo’s duvet cover checked all my boxes. Actually stylish bedding that’s comfortable, cool, hypoallergenic, and antimicrobial? Say less! With its easy-to-secure snaps and buttons, plus a range of neutral to bright color offerings, there’s no way you can go wrong, in my opinion. And if you really want to treat yourself, I promise you won’t be disappointed with the duvet insert, either.

My sleep preferences: My ideal sleep situation is a cool room under soft, cozy sheets that keep me warm but not overheated. I’ve had sensitive skin my entire life, so materials are something I’ve always had to pay attention to.
About the brand: Ever since its beginnings, Ettitude has offered ethical, environmentally friendly cotton-alternative products, like its Signature Sateen Duvet Cover in 100% organic bamboo. I’ve heard many fellow bedding enthusiasts sing bamboo’s praises. After one sleep, I’m fully on the bandwagon. It’s unbelievably soft, the equivalent of 1,000 thread count in feel. And because it doesn’t overheat and its hypoallergenic properties, my skin is loving it.
My experience: The duvet cover was easy enough to take on and off. I was wary of the material at first touch. It felt like silk, which in my mind translates to way too hot. I was pleased to find that the alternative wasn’t and was indeed the best of both worlds. For the color, I opted for the slate stripe pattern, which is both fun and classic.
The bottom line: If you’re like me and just want to feel like you’re sleeping in a cloud, these duvet covers are highly recommended. And beyond that, for hot sleepers, those with sensitive skin, or those who just want to make a more sustainable choice, give Ettitude a shot for sure.

My sleep preferences: As an embarrassingly hot sleeper who shares a bed with an equally sweaty partner and a hairy 80-pound dog, I’m perpetually on the hunt for breathable yet durable bedding. I’ve tried linen duvets but found cotton usually strikes the best balance of lightweight yet sturdy.
About the brand: Buffy is an AD-favorite brand with an expansive line of bedding and pillows all in materials that are not only perfect for sleep, but also better for the environment. The percale duvet in particular is fully biodegradable and made with responsibly sourced fibers. Even the buttons are made with plant-based materials.
My experience: Upon opening the packaging of Buffy’s Breeze Duvet Cover, I can say with confidence I have never felt softer bedding, but I was interested to see if it would retain its silken texture. I’m happy to report that after several washes, the Buffy duvet cover remains as soft as ever.
I also found it to be the perfect weight; the eucalyptus lyocell fibers make it oh-so-soft yet delightfully thin so even someone as prone to night sweats as me can comfortably cocoon themself in it all night. One downside of such a fine material is that it seems to wrinkle fairly easily, but the tactility and temperature regulation of the eucalyptus is worth the occasionally wrinkled look for me.
