100m final live updates: Track and field at Paris Olympics 2024 latest with three gold medal events

Femke Bol recorded the quickest time of the morning with a 53.38, which she achieved just hours after leading the Netherlands to gold in a stunning 4×400-meter mixed relay victory.

She said earlier today:

💬 “I didn’t sleep much, but I can stand a short night for once. It’s very special what happened yesterday. On one hand I felt so super tired today, but the adrenaline helped me through it (today). It wasn’t my best race (today), but it doesn’t have to be yet.

“It was quite difficult to shift gears after Saturday night. You feel the confidence, but don’t want to get overconfident.

“I did everything on the safe side (today), but I don’t like that (too much). I like to go (as fast as possible). I think this was the toughest morning and I survived it. It was actually quite fun even.

“Hurdles is totally different compared to a 400m flat, but I’m happy I was able to do well today. I will now have time to reset a little, get some rest and sleep and prepare for the next.”
